In keeping with the character of Unit4, the interior is both efficient and inventive: Zuidas and Silicon Valley together, with a view of the Dutch landscape. A continuous stairs which connects all floors – also known as the ‘harp’ because of the wooden slats – symbolizing interaction.
Renovate or relocate? Unit4 consults CBRE for the best option for implementing a new workplace concept based on the idea of ‘interaction’.
New building turned out to be the best option to foster collaboration among the staff. On behalf of Unit4, Workplace Consultancy was able to tailor specific needs for the layout of the office with the architect and the project developer at an early stage in the process. This allowed the workplace concept to be optimally implemented.
Well designed, open connections are essential for more interaction between departments and colleagues. For this reason, it was decided to construct an extra staircase in the void to connect the different floors with each other. The staircase and the surrounding areas around it optimally facilitate internal communication. Pleasant, informal meeting places with pantries, lounge areas and informal meeting and scrum areas were created around the stairs. The workplaces are mainly situated along the outer walls of the building. The areas where people can withdraw for more concentrated work are close to the regular workplaces but do not disturb the work process.
